Current vacancies

Adoption social worker

This is an exciting time in our service development as we continue to shape our service by developing new working practices to ensure children and young people and their families are effectively supported throughout their adoption journey.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Social Work England registered social worker who has at least 3 years post qualifying experience. You will need to evidence an awareness and understanding of the lifelong nature of adoption; the skills and attributes that are required to adopt, the principles of therapeutic parenting, as well as the on-going needs of adoptive families caring for children who have a background of developmental trauma.

You will be expected to contribute to improving outcomes for all our children and families and understand the concept of safeguarding children within adoption.

An ability to write clear, concise and analytical adoption assessments is a core skill of this position.

You will also be involved in developing and co-delivering our adopters learning and development programme and supporting peer support opportunities such as family picnics and recruitment events.

For further information please visit the Nottinghamshire County Council website.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Jo Graney, Recruitment, Assessment and Placement Team Manager on (0115) 9773583 or Lisa Drummond, Service Manager for Recruitment, Assessment, Placement and Home finding on (0115) 8040013.
